Epiphany and Beyond
Shining the light of Christ’s love
Epiphany Season
Epiphany means “manifestation.” The season of Epiphany begins with the commemoration of the arrival of the Magi (“Wise Men”) on January 6 and continues with commemorations of the Baptism of our Lord and of our Lord’s first miracle at Cana of Galilee (turning water into wine). In each of these events, Jesus was progressively revealed to be both fully God and fully human.
This season of Light continues all the way through Shrove Tuesday (a.k.a. Mardi Gras or “Fat Tuesday,” the day before Lent begins). Throughout this season, we reflect on what it means to bear the Light of Christ into the world.
Worship: Baptism of the Lord
As we celebrate the Baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ, we also remember our own baptisms and give thanks to God for the grace of regeneration–new life in Christ! Come join us for this special occasion.
