Sermon Series: Discipleship Pathway
Where are you on the pathway?
Throughout scripture, Jesus meets people on roads, and after these encounters, they are never the same again. They begin following Jesus on the path of discipleship.
Being a disciple, making disciples.
The amazing thing about the Discipleship Pathway is that we can enter it at any point. For some, the entry point is the experience of Gathered Worship. For others, it is forming Holy Friendships, for still others, it is engaging in practices that lead them to a Dynamic Spirituality. At whatever place on the road that we first encounter Jesus, we continue on the pathway for the rest of our lives, experiencing each step of the journey more deeply each time it comes around.
Join us!
We invite you to join us for worship January 26 – through March 2 as we explore the six steps of the Discipleship Pathway.
A Worshiping Community
January 26
God is calling us to worship, not as a random collection of individuals, but as a community of faith. What does that look like?
Holy Friendships
February 2
The bonds of friendship are vital to each person’s life. Holy friendships within the community of faith are equally vital to being a disciple of Jesus.
Sacred Purpose
February 9
Jesus proclaimed that God had sent him to preach good news to the poor and to declare release to captives. As disciples of Jesus, we also have a sacred purpose in life. Let’s discover ours together.
Dynamic Spirituality
February 16
Worship is important, but as we follow Jesus along the path, we need to move into experiences of deeper spirituality. Practices such as the hours of prayer, Lectio Divina, and others will help us along the way.
Joyful Generosity
February 23
Following Jesus involves discovering how we have been uniquely gifted by the Spirit, and then using those gifts joyfully so that more people may become followers of Jesus too.
Faith Worth Sharing
March 2
A faith worth following is a faith worth sharing. Come and learn how to share your faith story with others.
